Zend Framework Tutorials

I’ve noticed one of the keys to the success of a modern web framework has been the availability of tutorials and easy to use documentation. Frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, CakePHP, and CodeIgniter have a plethora of screencasts, tutorials, and a very easy to use user guide all linked from the front page. The Zend Framework, however, does not advertise these things immediately to you. Although the framework does have an okay reference guide (after you look for it), there are no screencasts, the DevZone is almost a joke if you’re looking for a specific tutorial, and the Wiki is covered with articles on how to contribute and report bugs, but there are little to no articles on getting started with the framework! Yikes!

So I have taken it upon myself to help expand the number of resources for learning about the Zend Framework. On this page you will find links to all the tutorials and screencasts I have created in relation to the zend framework.

I prefer screencasts to text tutorials for the single reason that I believe they are more engaging for the reader. As much as I enjoy reading about new technology, programming patterns, libraries, etc. Seeing it in action, step-by-step is much more interesting to me. Instead of making one giant screencast, I do split my screencasts into multiple short segments so you may reference them easily.
